When I was in my 20’s I used to keep a diary so that I had a bit of an outlet to my random thoughts or a way of remembering holidays or key moments in my life. When I was travelling I kept this habit up and made notes of my adventures and places I had visited.
Sadly all of these recorded memories have been lost or destroyed but some of them remain in my mind.
When Danny Davies told me he was starting a Blog to track his progress on a 40 before 40 style bucket list I instantly felt that I needed to know more.
One of the items on his list was to inspire people to create a bucket list of their own, I am not sure if what I am doing qualifies as inspired as my take on it is a little different but he has certainly helped by telling me how to go about setting up a Blog and several other little tips that have helped me no end.
In mid 2013 I started to post my random thoughts and memories on line and have, to date, had over 3000 views on my Blog.
During my few months of Blogging I have covered a wide range of subjects but there do seem to be 2 subjects that reoccur, Music and Travel.
I have managed to get my 11 month backpacking trip into writing without the aid of the travel diary that I have since misplaced. Not bad going when you consider that this was 20 years ago.
The whole experience has been quite therapeutic and has also made me remember some events that I had completely forgotten, places I had been that had been buried in my mind and even people that had faded into obscurity as well as giving me a renewed love of writing.
